Belgrade team chief Borislav Stefanovic has said that the agreement on crossings protects Serbia’s national interest, Constitution and UN SC Resolution 1244.

Belgrade, SERBIA – Sunday, December 4, 2011 / The independent NewsweeK
“The solution is not ideal but it is the best in the given circumstances. The concept of joint control of the administrative crossings was not imposed on us, we have initiated it, not the EU or Pristina,” he told a press conference at the Serbian government headquarters on Sunday.
The agreement bounds both countries to not display the symbols of the respective jurisdictions in these checkpoints. The EULEX will be present in all six of them, as well as Serbian police and financial officers, Stefanovic told reporters.
As a special success in this agreement, Stefanovic noted that Serbia’s police and financial officers would return to Kosovo and there exercise their functions, which is in accordance with Resolution 1244.
He also announced that the agreement would be published on the Serbian government’s website and that he would personally hand it to opposition leaders if necessary.
