Kosovo kicked-off their first ever football friendly match against Haiti (0-0), the Kosovo national soccer team played its first FIFA-sanctioned friendly match on Wednesday, March 5th, 2014 – against Haiti, in Mitrovica, 24 miles north of the capital, Pristina. The friendly battle took place in the former mining hub of Mitrovica, split at the River Ibar between ethnic Albanians in the south and ethnic Serbs in the north, who reject Kosovo’s statehood.
